Starter Company Plus – Program resuming Fall 2019 How it works Starter Company Plus includes: one-on-one guidance from a Small Business Enterprise Centre advisor access to a business plan boot camp and coaching/training from professional consultants and coaches funding of up to $5,000 experience running a business that will better position you to be more successful and profitable in your business and to obtain more traditional financing Who is eligible? You can apply if you are: A Canadian/Ontario/Leeds Grenville citizen or permanent resident aged 18 and over Working in your business full time; 30-40 hours a week; all year round. Generating income In your first 5 years of business To qualify for funding of up to $5,000, you need to be able to contribute at least 25% (in cash or in kind) of the grant amount. Non-profits will not be eligible for the grant but may be eligible to take part in the training. This will be looked at on a case by case basis. If you are on Ontario Disability Support Program you can still apply to Starter Company Plus. Payments from the program may be exempt as income and assets under social assistance, so your monthly social assistance payment may not be affected. The onus is on you to make sure all information is communicated to your ODSP case worker. If you are on Ontario Works then you are not eligible for Starter Company Plus. Targeted Sector – Tourism For the next year 2 seats have been reserved for tourism oriented businesses. You can apply if you are: A Canadian/Ontario/Leeds Grenville citizen or permanent resident aged 18 and over Working in your business seasonally, 4 -6 months per year; 30-40 hours a week during your seasonal time. Generating income of $10 000 per year or more In business for at least one season Employing 1 or more Full Time Employees during peak times.
