Location: North Grenville Chamber of Commerce
Reports to: Executive Director
Term: Summer 2025
Hours: 30–35 hours per week (some flexibility may be required for events) Friday are work from home. 9 am-4 pm Monday-Thursday
Wage: Based on Grant funding
Start: to be determined on hire
Due to grant criteria candidates must be aged 16 to 30.
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and have regular access to a reliable vehicle, as travel is required.

Are you a creative student with a passion for digital marketing, community engagement, and small business promotion? The North Grenville Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Marketing & Communications Assistant to join our team for the summer!
This exciting opportunity is ideal for a student studying marketing, communications, media, public relations, or a related field \ or high school student going into post-secondary, who’s eager to gain hands-on experience and supportive environment.
Position Summary
As our summer student, you will support our mission to promote and connect local businesses through engaging digital content and strategic communications. You’ll play a key role in creating business spotlights, social media content, and member recruitment campaigns—all while learning valuable skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Marketing and Promotion
• Create and schedule engaging business spotlights featuring Chamber members for social media, our website, and newsletters.
• Coordinate with local businesses to gather content like photos, testimonials, and promotions.
• Maintain a content calendar for business features and marketing campaigns.
• Design promotional graphics, videos, and reels to highlight member businesses.
• Support marketing efforts for local challenges (e.g., Highway 43 construction support initiatives).
2. Chamber Marketing
• Assist with campaigns to attract new Chamber members.
• Create content showcasing Chamber benefits such as events, promotions, and business advocacy.
• Help develop email marketing materials and outreach communications.
• Update and maintain member recruitment tools (brochures, flyers, etc.).
3. Social Media Management & Content Creation
• Create engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and more (posts, stories, graphics, reels).
• Monitor trending content and adapt ideas to our local audience.
• Assist with creating branded templates for recurring content themes (e.g., Member Spotlights, Event Promotions).
What We’re Looking For
• Strong written and visual communication skills.
• Creative, self-motivated, and organized.
• Familiarity with platforms like Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, or a willingness to learn.
• A passion for small business, community development, and digital storytelling.
